Evidence checklist

Before you delete spam calls or texts, save the receipts.

Blocking can reduce the noise. Evidence creates the paper trail. If you may want to fight back, save the details while they are still easy to find.

Spam-call evidence checklist

  • Call log screenshots showing number, date, and time
  • Voicemail audio or voicemail transcription screenshots
  • Text-message screenshots, including full sender details
  • Your STOP reply, opt-out request, or revocation language
  • Any calls or texts after STOP or after asking them to stop
  • National Do Not Call Registry confirmation or complaint records
  • Company name, website, address, registered agent, or license/NMLS details
  • Notes about what the caller said, including prerecorded or AI-sounding voice messages
  • Any forms, websites, or lead pages where the company claims you gave consent
